babies weaned and ready to go to new homes every day. However we usually have a small selection of babies either already born
or do to be born throughout most times of the year. We understand that many people wanting one of our pets, live a fair distance
away and need to make special plans to pick up their pet. If you live out of province/state and need to arrange pick up on
a certain date/time, sometimes if we know long enough in advance, we can arrange our day around your schedule. What is the
‘approximate’ date that you would like to have a hedgehog ready to bring home? Everyone has different reasons for selecting
what they believe is the perfect pet for them. But sometimes do to lack of knowledge or misinformation people make the wrong
decisions and later need to re-home their much-loved pet. In order to help avoid these kinds of situations, please tell us
a little bit about why, “besides the cuteness factor” you want a hedgehog versus another type of pet? Why do you
believe a hedgehog would be the perfect pet for you? Do small children share your home? Hedgehogs
are very cute, and most children find them adorable but sometimes-smaller children are better suited for a pet they can pet
and cuddle with bare hands. While most adults are okay with holding a baby hedgehog, if smaller children will be interacting
with one, then it may be better to consider purchasing a hedgehog that is a bit older. Usually a teenage hedgehog, over sixteen
weeks of age, has already gone through it’s initial quilling. By then their quills are slighter thicker and are not as
uncomfortable to tender hands. How many other pets do you have in your
home? What types? Are you the primary caregiver to those pets? We as responsible pet caregivers, need to accept that every
pet requires a certain amount of time if it is to be cared for responsibly. Do you have the time? Can you arrange to pick up the hedgehog
at our home or will you require shipping or delivery? If you live out of our area (or province) and require delivery whether
by land or by air, have you looked at our shipping page to get an idea of what your additional charges will be? While the
costs associated with shipping seem quite reasonable, this may be a deciding factor on whether or not you want to pursue purchasing
a hedgehog from us. Those who would like to purchase a hedgehog to keep
as a pet have different requirements than those wanting one to add to their breeding herd. People with the intentions breeding
or showing usually have very specific goals and require lot more information regarding lineage, genetics etc.. Therefore we
ask that all breeders (even though you have completed this form) that you call and discuss your breeding objectives with us
at heritage-pets.com and we will do our best to help you make the right selection. (Please note…To discourage unethical breeding

your are thinking about purchasing? We suggest the younger the better for mature caregivers, a little older for those with
smaller children and six months and older for breeders. Retired adults or rescues may not always an ideal choice for first
time hedgehog owners.
